Rings
The round sibling of Quadulo and Hexulo: a puzzle of linked rings. Turn one ring and its links turn the next. Line up the colors, open the lock, find the path.
- Problem
- Quadulo and Hexulo slide lines of tiles. Rings asks what the same calm puzzle becomes when every move turns a ring, and a link can turn its neighbor with it.
- Approach
- A move turns one ring by one sector, and links carry it to the next ring, the same way, the other way, or twice as far. Boards are slices to line up, tumbler locks and mazes. The game searches every state of a board, so each one is solvable, has a par, and has a hint. Stario serves the page, and progress stays in the browser.
- Result
- Like its siblings, it has a daily board that is the same for everyone, 30 steps that each add one idea, and an endless mode. It works with touch, mouse, and keys, and installs to a home screen.
